Contessa 26 Red Admiral with skipper Guy Waites takes on his own "Jester Challenge".
Last year Guy set off on the Jester challenge only to suffer a cruel setback whilst almost half way across, many of you will have read of his exploits in the class magazine.
As I write this he sits in a marina in Plymouth waiting for a suitable weather window to set sail again. He spent the winter modifying his Contessa Red Admiral or RA as we all call her, based on his many days at sea battling terrific head winds. You can read his full account on Guy's Blog and follow his progress at Follow Red Admiral.
Footnote: Guy and I sailed together for a couple of seasons on my boat Tessa, as we chatted in my garden in Cowes on Saturday it reaffirmed in my mind that he has the inner strength to take on this challenge and I know you will all join me in wishing him well on his voyage.
