Caroline IV for sale, Arisaig.
Our much-loved Contessa 26 Caroline IV is now for sale.
Since buying Caroline in 2008 my wife and I have sailed her extensively on the west coast of Scotland. For example, in 2023 we cruised the Hebrides before heading over to Loch Torridon, the Summer Isles and Ullapool.
We have now bought a bigger boat, so the sale of Caroline provides an opportunity for someone else to own a good value, capable and well cared for boat in one of the world’s great sailing areas.
If required, however, we would consider transporting the boat to another location from her current base at the beautiful Arisaig Marine.
With that in mind, Caroline is ready to go for the new seasonwith all the necessary sailing extras and boat yard support.
The yacht has been continuously upgraded and professionally maintained, including the replacement of expensive ‘big-ticket’ items such as the engine and rigging:
New standing rigging in 2019.
New running rigging and sail controls in 2019, including traveller, running back stay, main halyard and kicker.
New diesel engine, controls and other related systems fitted in 2010. On the recommendation of the Jeremy Rogers Yard, we had a Beta 14 HP professionally installed by the local Beta Dealer which has proved to be an excellent investment. The engine we inherited was an ageing Nanni 9.5 HP. Since it was installed, the new engine has been professionally serviced annually.
New starter battery in 2023.

New sprayhood in 2023 (the old sprayhood which was repaired in 2023 when combined with the cockpit canopy,also provides good all-weather protection should you want to keep the new sprayhood out of the elements).
New heads in 2012.
New teak aft hatch in 2012, professionally fitted to provide better and more secure engine access.
New four-man life raft in 2012.
New teak cockpit seating professionally fitted in 2011.
New Gebo forward hatch in 2010, another improvement specified by the Jeremy Rogers Yard and professionally fitted.
Annual interior refurbishment to maintain brightwork and bilges.
Caroline was built in 1973 so was one of the first Contessa 26s to benefit from a deep and self-draining cockpit.
Price is £11,950 to reflect upgrades and the view that Caroline can be categorised as a well-cared for ‘sailor’s boat’.
