RACE TRAINING DAY AND SOCIAL MEET UP SUPPER 13 MAY 2017 (and forthcoming dates)

Event Information

This is a new event planned by our race committee. It is planned to cater for all levels from our class 1 (IRC) down to Class 3 (Class Handicap 3) levels. Some previous racing experience is recommended albeit light.

However if any members would like to sail over to Cowes and join in for supper in the Island Sailing Club, you will be most welcome to join in for a meet-up.

For the Race Training the DAY PROGRAMME is:

09.30.          Welcome and Morning briefing.

10.45.           On the water training and practise.

15.00           Return ashore, debriefing and Rules talk.

19.30            Supper and social gathering at Island Sailing Club.

Please find attached the entry form issued by Island Sailing Club, our hosts on 13th May along with the form for numbers for the Dinner.

TO ENTER: fill out the Entry Form and send it with the Entry Fee of £45 direct to the Island Sailing Club.

SUPPER BOOKINGS: Supper has been arranged at island Sailing Club. The club will provide this from their a la carte menu, choose and pay on the day. A SEPARATE booking form to establish numbers is also attached so please complete and send to the Island Sailing Club even if you are just coming for the evening.

MOORING ARRANGEMENTS:      Shepards Wharf Marina has availability and a diary entry. Please book direct with them on as soon as possible. Their contact details are 01983 297821 and mention “Contessa 26 Event”.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS:

  1. Passage Race and / or Cruise in company or social meet up in Yarmouth on 10 June 2017.  Entry Forms will be available soon.
  2. North Sea Rally.  The first one and its on 28 July 2017.  5 UK boats have so far expressed interest. Rob Kolster from Holland has initially planned it. It’s starting on the Texel, followed by 2 lovely towns at Hindeloopen, and Hoorn. The Ijsselmeer is a lake without strong currents. Its delightful cruising ground. If there are any other expressions of interest please do let us know and we will put you in touch with Rob.
