Norm our man in Newport RI is  still helping us with information about Red Admiral and has forwarded the following message from Herb (via Heather, Guy's sister) a Radio Operator friend:

Hello Norm
People are probably wondering what Red Admiral is doing zig zaging across the Atlantic.

The first SE deviation from a NE track south of Nova Scotia was due to a large gale system potentially placing him on the northern side in NE to E gale conditions. The larger deviation to SE recently and now NE was to avoid TS Emily. When I did not get update position reports at the time of closest approach of Emily, due to SPOT having coverage problems in that area, Red Admiral contacted a foreign Commercial vessel via VHF who then called me on HF 12359 and provided Red Admiral's position as well as a statement of "difficult conditions over night but now all OK.

Red Admiral is now moving north of the High Pressure ridge towards 39N and should remain close to 39 to 40N with SW to W winds light at times moderate into Tuesday of next week
Best Regards

Herb
