This from Heather Guy's sister again today – 20th July 2011.
An e-mail from Norm Bailey (Past Commodore of the Newport Yacht club and contact point for international arrivals) this morning:
"Guy has hardened up even more as the wind has gone further to the South. This is a good thing because he can now lay the turning buoy (Red #6) south of Brenton Reef.
He is less than 180 miles to go. Best case scenario, at five knots that puts him here in 36 hours or 1000 hrs Friday morning. I can start calling him early Friday morning. He will pass just to the south of my house. I could probably spot his boat with my telescope."
