Round The Island - Report from Meow & Results for 2015

This year’s JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race was as ever a real test of sailing skill and nerve with Champagne conditions and big rolling seas to surf down. For the first time ever the Race was televised live and broadcast around the world via the Island Sailing Club’s website. Our two televised starts featured a number of our competitors and was a spectacular sight especially as we were all a bit occupied to take it in at the time.  6 Contessa 26s entered the IRC fleet and 5 entered the ISC handicap fleet.

Cowes Classics Week 2015

To acknowledge our forthcoming 50th Anniversary and the anniversary of the design date Royal London Yacht Club in Cowes issued an invitation to take part in Cowes Classics Week between 20 and 25 July. Richard Pickance (Thousand Knights) and Mike and Barbara Harrison (Jiminy Cricket) both entered and enjoyed a splendid week of sailing and socialising. Around 160 boats entered including a large XOD class. Due to the RYS bi - centenary event both Cowes Classics Week and the Panerai Classic Week were both held in the same week this year, and with some large classics visiting for the RYS event there were some wonderful sights on  the Solent.
